Inpatient Opiate Centers is an independent placement and information service that connects individuals and families with licensed inpatient opioid treatment facilities across the United States.

When someone — or their family member — calls our placement line, a trained specialist takes a confidential intake, verifies insurance benefits with the caller's commercial carrier, and presents two to four inpatient opiate treatment programs that match the caller's clinical needs, location, insurance coverage, and personal preferences. Once the caller chooses a facility, we coordinate the admission logistics and, when needed, help arrange transportation. The service is free to the caller.

Our directory focuses exclusively on licensed inpatient and residential programs that accept private insurance or self-pay. We do not list outpatient-only clinics, methadone maintenance programs, or facilities that serve only Medicaid populations — those resources exist and are valuable, but they are not what most callers seeking residential opioid treatment need.

How We're Funded

Inpatient Opiate Centers is funded through referral relationships with the inpatient treatment facilities in our directory. When a caller admits to a partner facility, we receive a referral fee from the facility — not from the caller, the caller's family, or the caller's insurance company. Our placement specialists are not compensated based on which facility a caller chooses, and our directory inclusion criteria are based on licensure, accreditation, clinical quality, and facility willingness to accept the populations we serve. We disclose this funding model openly because transparency about how the service operates is part of operating ethically in this space.
